We are currently seeking experienced and confident support workers join our team at a small residential home for 6 service users with learning disabilities and complex needs.
Our residents are of mixed gender, aged between 40 – 60 years old, and each can present challenging behavior. Our home is laid out in 3 different units, one of which is a supported living apartment, and each have their own levels of ability and care requirements.
As one of our dedicated support workers you will promote independence, personal development and facilitate informed decision-making in accordance with our service users’ unique needs and wishes, contributing to and adhering to personal care plans at all times. Residents at one unit will require very high levels of care, and though they are non-verbal, they are fully able to make you aware of their needs. Here you will be supporting our residents in their daily lives, including personal care, budgeting, shopping, cleaning, cooking, laundry, assistance with medication and community access. Residents at our second unit have all recently started college courses, and attend other activities such as tennis, skittles and swimming. Here you will facilitate our service users in engaging in social activities, employment, study and encourage them in maintaining relationships with family and friends. We continuously aim to provide support in all daily living activities which suit the needs and wishes of our residents.
As this home provides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week services, we can offer staff a variety of hours, including early, late, twilight and weekend shifts.

Minimum of 9 months experience within the health and social care sector
A mature and professional attitude towards personal care
PIT experience preferred – we offer this free of charge!
A confident and calm approach to challenging behaviour – we can provide training free of charge
Experience in Makaton preferred, but not essential
Epilepsy awareness and medication training preferred – we provide this free of charge
Competitive rates of pay starting from £8.00 - £10.00 p/h
