Dean Healthcare are recruiting on behalf of an organisation supporting adults with learning difficulties at several locations the country. We are specifically recruiting for the Tewkesbury location. The client supports adults with Autism, learning difficulties, schizophrenia, mild to strong challenging behaviour and those who self-harm.

We are looking for candidates who can work up to 37 hours per week on a temporary-permanent basis. You will be expected to work for the client on a temporary contract for 12 weeks, and will then be asked to work permanently for the candidate should you be successful.

The role will be supporting individuals on a 1-1 basis in the residential environment as well as part of a group. The right candidate will be able to support the service users with staying safe, providing emotional support, participating in activities, helping the individuals to achieve their own personal outcomes and supporting them with their finances. The candidate will be able to use their own initiative and creativity, whilst promoting independence and helping to make a positive impact on the service user’s development. The candidate will also need to be flexible and present an innovative approach to their work.

The 37 hours per week will be made up of shift work, including days, nights and weekend work. Once recruited permanently by the client, the successful candidate will start on £7.50 per hour for the first 6 months and this will then increase to £7.75 per hour. If you have a NVQ Level 2 you will begin on £7.75 per hour and this will increase to £8.00 per hour after 6 months. There are also other enhancements for working over time and on bank holidays.



  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Must have a minimum of 9 months paid experience in a similar setting
  • Willing to complete specialist training to meet the needs of the client
  • Experience working with adults who have Autism, learning difficulties, schizophrenia or present challenging behaviour.
  • Must be able to demonstrate initiative, punctuality and have strong written and verbal commination skills
  • All positions and posts are subject to a DBS check
